LED light strips are classified into waterproof grades according to the materials they make.

XX is two digits,

The first digit represents the protection level against solids, there are 7 levels, 0-6 respectively represent

The second digit represents the level of protection against liquids, there are 9 levels, 0-8 respectively represent

Dust level:

0: no protection

1: Prevent the intrusion of large solids

2: Prevent the intrusion of medium-sized solids

3: Prevent the intrusion of small solids

4: Prevent solid objects larger than 1mm from entering

5: Prevent the accumulation of harmful dust

6: Completely prevent dust from entering

1: Water droplets into the shell have no effect

2: When the shell is tilted to 15 degrees, the water droplets into the shell have no effect

3: Water or rain has no effect from the 60 degree corner to the shell

4: The liquid splashed into the shell from any direction has no harmful effect

There are four most common waterproof grades of LED light strips: IP20, IP65, IP67, and IP68.

Usually according to the actual use environment to buy the corresponding waterproof level of the light strip.

For indoor use, such as ceiling lighting, you can choose a non-waterproof light strip. For underwater use, such as a swimming pool, you can choose a waterproof grade of IP68.

LED light strip waterproof technology:

LED light strip IP65 waterproof: usually also called surface epoxy waterproof light strip, currently it is made of epoxy resin and PU glue. Put the LED strip flat on the glue table, fix the LED strip with double-sided adhesive on the back, and then put a layer of glue on the surface of the LED strip to play the role of waterproofing the surface. This is generally suitable for humid environments. .

LED light strips are IP67 waterproof: usually also called semi-sleeve drip waterproof or semi-sleeve glue waterproof, that is, the bottom is covered with a semi-sleeve, and then treated with glue or glue, generally suitable for rainwater environments.

LED light strips are IP68 waterproof: usually referred to as a full set of tubes filled with glue or a full set of tubes are pumped with glue. It is currently the highest waterproof level of LED strips and can be used completely in water.
