The visibility of LED profiles after installation largely depends on their design, the method of installation, and the surrounding environment. Here are a few scenarios:
- Surface-Mounted Profiles: These are the most visible type since they are mounted directly onto the surface of the material (like ceilings, walls, or under cabinets). The LED strip inside and the light emitted are very apparent, making them both a functional and decorative element. The profiles can come in various finishes like silver, white, black, etc., and can be chosen to either stand out as a design element or blend in with the surroundings.
- Recessed Profiles: These profiles are designed to be installed into a cut-out in the material, so they sit flush with the surface. The result is a more seamless and integrated look, where the profile itself is barely visible, and mostly the light emitted is noticed.
- Angled Profiles: These are designed to project light at a certain angle. When installed, they are visible but offer a certain aesthetic due to the direction of light.
- Plaster-In Profiles: These are designed to be integrated into the architecture and are often installed during construction or remodeling. The profiles are embedded into walls or ceilings, then plastered over and painted to match the surrounding surface, making them virtually invisible when the lights are off.
- Pendant/Suspended Profiles: These are designed to be hung from ceilings. They are highly visible and often used as design features in a room, as well as for their light.
In all cases, the diffuser (cover) on the profile will generally be visible whenever the LEDs are on, as it diffuses the light and minimizes the "dot effect" of individual LEDs. The diffuser can be clear, frosted, or opal depending on the desired level of light diffusion.
Choosing between visible or concealed, functional or aesthetic, will largely depend on your individual project requirements and design preferences.
